There's truth to the old adage: a fresh coat of paint does wonders to transform a room. But paint shopping can be overwhelming and time consuming. You know the drill: choose a paint brand and grade, select the right hue, retrieve an array of swatches, test out samples, observe said samples in various lights and times of day, make a sound decision, then get the paint on the wall evenly.

Entrepreneur and designer Nicole Gibbons is on a mission to simplify the paint shopping process. Her eco-friendly, direct-to-consumer paint company, Clare, launched in 2018 and is disrupting the traditional paint selling model. Simply put, shopping for paint on Clare's website is a delight and her carefully curated collection of colors will no doubt save you lots of fretting. Continue reading

This was 2010, my first trip to India, and I hadn’t set out to bring home what would later become my signature, best-selling textile, the dohar blanket. But that’s what happened, and it’s all thanks to an Indian factory owner and my own admittedly risky sense of adventure. Continue reading

Home for the Holidays

Home for the Holidays
I'm doing my best to lean into the trimmed-back version of the holiday season. Now more than ever, I'm clinging to the traditions that bring me joy each year, and I'm sharing some of them with you (along with a few other tidbits!). Bright days are ahead, my friends. Good as Gold

Good as Gold
I recently heard it said that it is indeed September—not January—that marks the new year, culturally speaking. We’re attuned to the rhythm of the school year beginning, summer’s languid easy-come, easy-go-ness tucked neatly away as we eagerly slip into sturdier schedules. Join us in celebrating the new season as we pay homage to the harvest hues of autumn. Storied Details: The Lassi Cup

Like many pieces in the shop, our authentic lassi cups serve as an ode to bridging origins and eras, while also sustaining heritage crafts. For generations, the eponymous yogurt-based shake was served in hand-engraved patinated metal and brass cups. We now gather these one-of-a-kind pieces from markets across India for you to treasure for years to come.
